The Rock Hall Reconsidered Project: Round 17 Results
After the Round 16 results were revealed, each nomination committee member was asked to compile another list of 40 currently-eligible artists to create the Round 17 ballot. With the addition of newly-eligible artists for the Class of 1998 (who released their first record in 1972) to the mix. With 17 spots available from last round, the committee replaced their existing nominees and generated an official ballot for Round 16:

The 21 artists who did not receive induction this round will automatically be nominated in Round 18. Next week, we will consider artists eligible for the Class of 1999 (artists who released their first record in 1973).
And because Chubby Checker and Elmore James received the same amount of votes and the highest percentage this round, both artists will automatically be nominated on the next veteran's committee ballot.
